About the Weekend

Starting on Friday 17th September 2010, from midday, HangOut UK is a weekend event for people passionate about the Hang from across the world to come and
join together to learn new techniques and play Hang.

During the weekend various performances and workshops will be available in the Barn, or down by the river, as well as a chance for people to jam or perform music of their own during the open mic sessions.

On Saturday night we’re planning on having a big bonfire where we’d like to encourage people to play music and enjoy the open space. (weather depending of course)

Finishing on Sunday 19th September people are welcome to camp over on the Sunday night as the weekend isn't quite over yet; another night of music, open mics and musical fun is in order to end the weekend's Hang Out.

Cafe Chameleon Cafe Chameleon

Cafe Chameleon will be offering tasty wholesome, locally souced organic and fairetrade food throughout the weekend.

Run by Claire King and Frank Gilbert they've been serving up tasty treats at a multitude of festivals through the years including WOMAD, Two thousand trees, The Big Green Gathering and many more, so they have a long list of very satisfied customers.

We're very blessed to have them coming along to HangOut and we'd encourage as many people as possible to try them out over the weekend, the food will be good, is ethical and will be reasonably priced as well.

Check out their website at www.cafechameleon.co.uk and if you have an event that requires catering please do give Cafe Chameleon a call, they'll be pleased to talk through any requests as well as work with you on a menu that suits you and your guests.

About the Venue

Mellow farm is an established family run farm dating back to 1566. Set in the beautiful Surrey countryside on the outskirts of the historic market town of Farnham, Mellow farm nestles in a river valley with woodlands and rural life all around.

HangOut UK will be centred in a barn on the farm called "The Chicken Shed", with a purpose built stage for open mic as well as plenty of space for a jamming circle and even a fully functional kitchen area.

Situated at the end of the camping field right next to the River Wey is a large fire pit for some after dark jamming sessions around the open fire.

Facilities

Mellow farm is a functional campsite with camping field, toilet & shower facilities, BBQ area with picnic table & a fully working kitchen.

The Chicken Shed also boasts facilities for up to 10 people to sleep, so if you cannot bring a tent then do not despair as we can provide you with a mattress; just bring some bedding. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment or you'll end up on a hard floor! Please also bear in mind that music in the barn can go on until quite late.
